The Monday's arrest of Hillary Obutu, a brother-in-law to Governor John Nyagarama, has met excitements from among locals.
Detectives arrested Mr. Obutu, a reinforcement officer in the county government at 5pm over fraud allegations following complaints from members of the public.
"This is a prove that impunity has no room in Kenya. We want him to be processed very fast and arraigned in court," said Kefa Mokua.
Youth President Justus Maeche added: "This is a positive move and we want proper investigations to be done. We can't live with impunity."
Some asked more victims to come out and record statement to help detectives to 'completely' nail the suspect.
"We need more victims to come out so that investigations are not tampered with. Impunity must end and that's over prayer," said Nick Kibeni.
Mr. Obutu was taken for interrogation by the DCIO Millicent Ochuka, who however did not reveal where he was going to be locked.
At least ten people recorded statements where they directly implicated Mr. Obutu, a brother to First Lady Naomi Nyagarama, over fraud.
