Kesses Member of Parliament Dr Swarup Mishra has asked the government to ensure the security personnel are well remunerated.
This, the MP says, will help to reduce corruption and improve security all over the country.
"The Ministry of Interior should remunerate security officers well since if a criminal is richer than the security officer, we cannot abolish and prevent corruption," said Mishra who was speaking to the press on Tuesday after meeting security officers from his constituency.
"We must see the comfort zone of each and every security personnel because if the fees of their children and hospital bill are not paid on time, they will be disturbed hence cannot perform well," he added.
Mishra further reiterated that the security personnel should be given modern equipment and gadgets to help in fighting criminals who have become rampant in the country.
Concerning politics, the Jubilee MP called on politicians to refrain from the 2022 succession politics talk and instead concentrate on development to better the lives of their electorates.
He further said that it's only Kenyans, through their vote, who will decide who will be their president come 2022.
