Residents of Nyabisimba village in Nyamira County on Sunday were forced to flee from their homes after bees invaded the whole village.
Mwongorisi chief George Magata confirmed the incident which has left locals in shock.
The administrator said no one saw where the bees came from.
"The bees invaded the whole village and started stinging livestock. Two cows died on spot due to bee stung as other livestock scampered for safety," said Magata.
He noted that locals who had returned from church in the area were forced to run for their dear lives abandoning their homes.
"Some locals had not left various churches. Those who were at their homes had to scamper for their safety as the bees continued stinging livestock," he added.
The chief assured that no one was injured during the incident.
He termed the incident a natural calamity arguing that locals should dedicate their lives to the Lord.
"We can't link the bee invasion to witchcraft as this is just a natural calamity. Locals need to change their ways and pray hard to God," he stated.
Magata said the bees left the village after two hours of mayhem.
