Galgalo warned that negligent chiefs will face stern disciplinary action.

All the 69 chiefs and their 233 assistants from the entire county took a second oath of office during a leaders meeting in Machakos town on Monday.

Galgalo told the provincial administrators to ensure they abide by the oath.

“You have taken two oaths. You took one while on training and another one today,” said Galgalo.

The meeting was attended by the chiefs, their assistants, 34 assistant county commissioners, 9 deputy county commissioners, OCPD’s, AP commanders, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka and area Woman Representative Joyce Kamene.

Galgalo said all the chiefs and their assistants are natives of the Ukambani region hence have no reason not to serve the locals 100 per cent.

“Machakos is yours, is there any chief who is not a Kamba? The few who aren’t have been assimilated,” said Galgalo.

He said as government officers from other regions, they have come to Ukambani to work and one day they will return to their respective home counties or move to other regions on transfer.

Galgalo urged the chiefs to ensure lives of the Kambas and those living in Ukambani and their property are protected 100 per cent.

He lauded President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto for taking good care of the chiefs welfare.

Galgalo said chiefs and security agencies have been well facilitated citing motorbikes, and vehicles which the Jubilee administration has provided for chiefs, police agencies, county commissioners and their deputies across the country.

Galgalo warned that chiefs whose locations and sub locations fail to eliminate betting machines, illicit brew and crime within one week's time will have themselves to blame.
