A 27-year-old man on Saturday committed suicide after he allegedly caught his wife pants down with another man in their matrimonial bed.
The incident happened in Kerongo village in Muma location, Getenga in Kisii County.
Area chief Timothy Okeyo confirmed the incident saying the deceased killed himself by drinking poison.
Okeyo told Hivisasa that the deceased Eliud Ngwono returned home abruptly at 10 am from a homestead where he works as a labourer only to find his wife naked in bed with the man.
"The deceased could not manage to attack the man whose identity is yet to be known. The man escaped through the window abandoning the woman alone," he said.
The chief noted that the deceased picked a bottle full of poison and consumed protesting his wife's infidelity
"Residents rushed him to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment but, unfortunately, he died at 1 pm," said Okeyo.
The body was moved to the hospital's morgue for reservation awaiting for burial.
The area chief warned married women in the area against engaging in illicit affairs outside the wedlock.
