The county is popular for not housing leaders for more than one term, the best scenario being the gubernatorial spot, with former Governor Jack Ranguma being forced out in the previous poll.

He took with him his deputy Ruth Odinga with Mathews Owilli taking over the deputy county chief slot, with the same likely to repeat itself in 2022, specifically in the Governor's seat.

As things shape up, and judging by the county's voting pattern, the county Senator Fred Outa is the most likely person to uproot Governor Anyang' Nyong'o in the forthcoming contest.

Apart from his popularity and vocal nature, the former Nyando lawmaker also has close ties with opposition leader Raila Odinga, who is deemed to have the final say in the area's politics.

Outa and Ruth have severally been jointly linked to controversy,  including interfering with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) training before the October 26 presidential rerun.

In terms of the voting patterns in the county, Kano clan where he hails from boasts of the largest number followed by Nyakach and Kisumu clans and this will give him the upper hand.

Nyong'o's Seme clan is not as strong numerically, and added to the leadership mistakes and unkept promises, which must erupt as he approaches the end of his first term, he will easily lose to Outa.
