A class six girl is undergoing through pain after a man believed to be her uncle allegedly defiled her and escaped.
This happened on Tuesday evening at Nyamare village in Riana, Kisii County.
Area chief Edward Moenda said the victim was returning home from Nyamare Primary when the suspect Bernard Onditi lured her into his house.
"Onditi lured the minor to his house when she found her stranded outside their house because her mother had not returned from Riana shopping center where she owns a business stall," he said.
Mr Moenda said the girl, who could not know whether Onditi could turn against her, entered the house when the suspect locked the house.
"The man undressed her in the house and defiled her before he released her to their house. The minor reported what had happened to her mother who notified neighbours," he said.
According to the chief, by the time neighbours stormed the man's house the man had escaped.
"The man was spotted being ferried on a motorbike towards Asumbi route. Tests done on the minor revealed that she was defiled," he said.
He assured that the suspect must be apprehended even if it takes years from now to face the law.
