Nyamira County residents have blamed county MCAs for failing in their oversight role for the last one year.
Led by Kenya Social Congress chairman Atati Kengere claimed that county MCAs have neglected the electorates after they won the August 8, 2017 polls.
"Nyamira MCAs are only earning salaries without doing anything to end the health workers' strike. The lazy MCAs should wake up from their deep sleep and ensure they are working around the clock to serve the electorates," he said.
Atati said residents will not continue suffering at homes sick since the health workers who are supposed to attend them at public hospitals have boycotted work due to lack of salaries.
He said the ward representatives should stop being too lenient on Governor John Nyagarama, his deputy Mr. Amos Nyaribo and the executive who are diverting public funds to their personal uses.
"We need the health sector to be improved and this can only be achieved if Nyagarama's administration agrees to pay the striking nurses.
"The electorates are suffering while the lazy MCAs are earning monthly salaries helping their families abandoning the locals who voted for them," he stated.
Atati said residents should not shy off from championing for their rights since they are the employers of the MCAs who have turned to be lazy and selfish.
