A ruling delivered by Justice Nduma Nderi requires him to appear in person to answer to contempt of court charges.

"Summons are hereby issued to 6th Respondent to personally appear in court on the day to be appointed by court to show why he should not be held in contempt of court," read the ruling.

The case was filed by activist Vincent Omao who accuses Nyaribo, who is holding brief for Governor John Nyagarama, on grounds that he sackjed County Secretary Eric Onchana against court instructions.

And a source privy to county intrigues says the DG will after all not honour the summons and has since gone into hiding as he prepares a come back.

"He has gone into hiding and won't appear in person. He insists that he is fairly targeted since he cannot fire or recruit employees," said the source.

Nyaribo, an active member of the ODM party, is serving his second term and has been crafting on how to take over from Nyagarama.

In the detailed ruling, the judge warned against his absence in court and threatened to have contempt proceedings instituted against him and subsequent jail term.
