Residents of Bomariba ward have hit out at area MCA Protus Moindi Aramba for failing to construct Mosasa footbridge.
Locals led by Richard Tungu protested the MCA's laziness terming him a greedy leader.
Tungu claimed that Mosasa bridge is where locals, pupils and students cross over from Morambo village to Nyabimwa SDA Secondary, Nyabimwa Primary and Entanke Primary and Nyabimwa SDA church.
"Despite the numerous plea we have been making to Mr Aramba to construct the footbridge he has done nothing. He has boycotted the ward yet we elected him to develop the ward," said an angeryTungu.
Richard Onserio, another local slammed the former Kisii County Assembly Majority Leader terming him an incompetent leader.
Onserio said residents of Bomariba are regretting electing 'ODM party' instead of a leader.
"Aramba was elected because of the party he was vying on. We are now suffering in the village without getting any help," said Onserio.
Emmanuel Onsongi said they were forced to use tree trunks as a temporal bridge for them to cross over the neighbourhood since the MCA is sleeping on his job.
Peter Makori appealed to the MCA to wake up and deliver.
"Aramba must work on the footbridge before kids fall into the river," he stated.
Ezekiel Manoti, another resident said locals have been using the long distance to access Nyabimwa SDA church because of the bad state of the footbridge.
Manoti challenged the MCA to stop ignoring his duties.
However, Mose Ayienda the MCA's personal assistant said the footbridge will be constructed in the next financial year.
