Mr. Nyagarama is said to have travelled to Nairobi on Tuesday ahead of Thursday's grilling over the Auditor General report for 2015/16 Financial Year.

According to the AG report, the county could not account for millions of shillings, ranging from undone ghost projects and illegal payment of Per Diems to county officials.

For months, Senator Mogeni has been pushing for grilling of Nyagarama, insisting that most money could not be accounted for.

"I can't be part of the shame. I want the governor to be grilled on this matter. We are not seeing any projects on the ground yet people want to see results.

"I'd rather resign than being part of the embarrassment. The county government must come open on billions sent from the National Government," he said on Tuesday.

Mogeni, a former LSK chairman, has been under pressure from s section of locals who accuse him of doing nothing about alleged graft in the county.

Currently, EACC is investigating construction of prefab building worth Sh36 million which contractors claim was exaggerated.

The senate PAC is set to grill Nyagarama on Wednesday, his second appearance since his election in 2013.
