A secondary school in the North Eastern region is in the spotlight over an alleged rape case involving two teachers, both of who are working at the institution.
The principal of Shimpir Fatuma Secondary school, Mr Ibrahim Isaack Haasan, of TSC Number 421218 is alleged to have raped a female teacher within the school environs in early October.
The school head is also reported to have threatened the female of dire consequences if she dares reveal the incident to the public or even report the matter to the police.
The incident has elicited anger from local human rights activists, who have since written to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the local security agencies.
According to a letter from a local activist, Simba Hasheem, seen by this writer, the school head committed the heinous act to a female teacher in the same school with the TSC number 716362.
Hasheem now gave the TSC a one-week ultimatum to take disciplinary action against the school principal.
"The TSC code of conduct on sexual harassment calls for interdiction of any rapist pending investigation. However, the same has not happened. The case was reported to the TSC County director in Mandera and no action has been taken so far," reads a letter by the activist in part.
"In light of the above, I would like to give a one week notice with effect from 16th October 2018 to the TSC to take necessary action against the said teacher," the letter added.
