Odhiambo who is the chairperson of the Parliamentarian for Global action in Kenya said the sentence handed to Kamande was harsh.

Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, Odhiambo said that Kamande is young and beautiful but she had lost a life.

“I am the Chairperson of the Parliamentarians for Global Action in Kenya and we believe in the rule of law and human rights. And one of the things we’re working on this term is the abolition of the death penalty and we’re going to bring amendments to remove the death penalty in our books. This girl is so beautiful, so young and that she has lost her entire life”, said Odhiambo.

She further said that young people should not stick to relationships they find not working they should walk away because there are so many men to come.

"I would want to encourage young people; if you’re in a bad relationship… if someone is cheating on you, he’s not the only man on earth, walk away, other men will come; she’s still too young and beautiful, she would have found many more men,” said the MP.

The judge said that in stabbing the boyfriend 22 times, it was intentional to cause pain, suffering, and death.
