Two weeks to former United States President Barrack Obama’s expected tour of the nation, his Kenyan half brother Malik Obama is indifferent and almost not interested.
This, however, comes at a time when Obama’s Kogelo village in Siaya County has been turned into a beehive of activities in preparation for the former most powerful man in the globe’s third tour of Kenya.
Malik is a known critic of his brother and always condemned most of his moves throughout his political career which he started as the Illinois Senator.
Malik even went against Obama’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton to back President Donald Trump in the previous US elections.
And when the Daily Nation asked him of his preparation for the forthcoming event he simply had nothing to comment.
‘’I am not willing to grant an interview on that. I have no comment, thank you,’’ he told the paper.
In 2006, the enmity became open when Malik tore into Barrack who had been elected to office, terming him a hypocrite who had sidelined his African family after his election to the White House.
This, he said, was despite Obama having ridden on his black roots to achieve the same, and having vowed to use the post to help the continent.
‘’President Obama is my brother and I love him, but he is a hypocrite. He wants nothing to do with Africa despite campaigning on a platform of helping to transform the continent,’’ he is quoted by the paper as having said then.
