President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again called for political calm, urging politicians to cease from engaging in petty politicking and concentrate on service delivery.

Speaking on Sunday, Uhuru urged the group to lend him and his government a hand in promoting cohesion and progress, adding that his leadership target remains clear to him.

He said that his main interest is to ensure that that Kenyans remain united despite their racial ans religious differences, adding that they must remain untired despite their tribal variations.

He further pledged his commitment to lead the nation in winning the war against corruption, adding that he also seeks to ensure that quality healthcare becomes a reality.

“Our unity is our strength and foundation for building a strong nation. A nation that will be able to achieve its development targets so that the children of our children will remember that there was a time when Kenyans forgot tribalism, stopped corruption and built a country that provided jobs for the youth, drugs in hospitals and ensured no Kenyan slept hungry,” he was quoted by the PSCU.

Uhuru was speaking during a religious function at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani, also attended by his Deputy William Ruto and a host of other leaders.

Uhuru urged Kenyans to shun politicians propagating negative politics, noting that such stand between them and a better nation in the future.

“We must learn to forgive one another. Let us focus on the future instead of dwelling on the past that will prevent us from our development aspirations,” he added.
