Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, who was the CS in the lands docket, found herself in hot soup forcing her to step aside.

The resignation of Ngilu elicited mixed reactions from different factions.

Some of the Kambas felt Ngilu was being targeted because of her community.

Ngilu’s effort to save her job proved futile when the axe landed on her.

Others who were asked to step aside included Engineer Michael Kamau(Transport and Infrastructure). Felix Kosgei(Agriculture), David Chirchir (Energy) and Kazungu Kambi (Labour).

Uhuru later decided to refill the positions with leaders from other regions including  Malindi MP Dan Kazungu, for Kambi Kazungu and Kericho Senator Charles Keter for David Chirchir.

The devolution docket was taken over by former Assistant Minister Mwangi Kiunjuri following the departure of Anne Waiguru.

Ngilu walked through corridors of justice as she sought to clear her name from the scandals.

It took her several years before she was finally set free.

The new twist of things worked for her as she spiralled to become the second governor of Kitui.

The county boss has been very vocal on matters affecting the common 'mwananchi'.

She has put in a lot of effort in the health and other sectors since she took over the governorship.
