Instead, Pastor Randy Skeete will move to Kampala for an evangelical mission, despite thousands of Kenyans yearning for his services.

“I will be at Mt Olives SDA Church, Kampala, Uganda, this weekend. I look forward to it,” Mr Skeete said in a tweet.

Initially, Pastor Skeete was meant to be chief guest in Newlife SDA in Kisii only for his mission to be abandoned following disagreement in South Kenya Conference.

The SDA church conducts week long camps where preachers outside their jurisdiction are invited.

He said:“Wapendwa wa Kenya, I will not speak for the Kisii Newlife camp meeting. I do not know the background details, but humbly accepted the decision. May God grant me another opportunity. I will speak at Gloryland Church, Nairobi. God bless the Kisii brethren.”

“My Kisii brethren, sometimes as Christians we must accept decisions we do not like. That is part of Christian growth. God is good.”

Sources privy to the intrigues contend that the SKC officials were unhappy that the pastor would minister in Newlife SDA instead of mother church, Kisii Central SDA.

Similarly, the mission at Gloryland SDA in Nairobi was aborted despite being formalised before by organisers.

The Central Kenya Conference is yet to explain why it made a U-turn even after giving an okay for the mission.

Mr. Skeete leaves Kenya amid simmering tensions within the SDA church as followers acccused leadership of failure.

In March, followers had contributed in Kisii to buy air ticket for the renowned preacher only to be embarrassed at the eleventh hour.

In Nyamira and Kisii social media forums, users called for total overhaul in the conference.
