Mount Kenya University students from Kisii campus have condemned the brutal murder of Ivy Wangechi, a sixth-year medicine student at Moi University in Eldoret.
The students led by Eunice Nyakerario termed her brutal and blatant murder a complete disregard of respect for women.
"It is not good at all for Ivy's boyfriend to kill her in broad day light. She deserved to be given a chance to explain if at all she had wronged the man. Her death is a shock to us because in the recent days, ladies especially those on campus, are being murdered by their boyfriends," she said.
Nyakerario challenged ladies to ensure they don't entangle themselves in love relationships with men who may turn to be murderers.
"Ladies should be cautious because it seems men are slowly turning to be murderers. As ladies, we should be careful when dating men," he added.
Agnes Kiptoo appealed to the government to provide adequate security in learning institutions across the country.
"More police officers should be deployed to learning institutions to offer tight security to keep off anyone who may be out to harm learners," she stated.
James Mutuku slammed Ivy's boyfriend for the murder.
"The boyfriend could have left Ivy to move on instead of killing her," noted Mutuku.
