For close to three hours, Kalonzo hosted Governor John Nyagarama, MP Ben Momanyi (Borabu) and seasoned Kitutu Masaba politician Victor Swanya who had visited to condole with him following the death of his father, Peter Musyoka.

"Our leaders first condoled with him but of course we did have some politics dominating the meeting," George Momanyi, Nyagarama's aide said.

He added: "He is keen to win support from Kisii and Nyamira Counties. The over 1 million votes according to him will propel him to State House. He's certain that he will be president."

Throughout the meeting, the leaders discussed implications of Kalonzo presidency should he get a backup from the region.

Of the four constituencies in Nyamira, Wiper managed Borabu and almost won in West Mugirango through Steve Mogaka and Kitutu Masaba through Victor Swanya.

It's projected that by 2022, the two regions will have a combined 1.5 million voters which will be used for bargaining.
