On Monday the same group was reported to have been paid to stone the nurses who were parading the streets of Kisii demanding payment of their allowances by the county government

The kids and adult “chokoraas” have become very authoritative, terrorizing people at eateries and vehicles, where they arrive armed with stones and others fecal matter.

A critical observation reveals most of them are young people who are supposed to be at school and other energetic youthful adults who can add value to themselves and the society if their strength was wisely utilized

There have been concerns by other counties that these children come even from beyond Kenyan borders, and some, for instance, Nakuru and Uasin Gishu counties have blatantly handpicked some of the kids and dumped them elsewhere.

However Kisii county management needs to consider this matter diligently and differently while concerns over the origin of these kids are important, we can utilize their labor prudently and in the process help them

Why can’t their services be used for instance to do massive cleaning in the county and in reciprocation they can with time be trained each one on a skill or trade that will help him or her?
