Raila has been battling claims of using his truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta last year to weaken the party head of the 2022 elections, as has been alleged by some party members.

Similar claims were on Wednesday aired by Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, who said that the former Prime Minister is indeed the culprit behind Jubilee woes.

"Ni kweli wale wanaoharibu Jubilee ni wale watu ambao walisalimiana na rais majuzi (It is true the people wrecking Jubilee are those who hand shook the President not long ago.)," he said.

The legislator was speaking on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Wednesday evening.

He said that Raila's group is banking on its many graft allegations against Deputy President William Ruto to create tension between him and the President.

"Shida yetu ni hawa wanaozunguka wakisema eti naibu wa Rais ni mwizi ilhali hawana ushahidi (our main problem are the people heaping corruption claims on the DP yet they have no evidence)," added Barasa.

The corruption debate seems to be heating at the same time when President Uhuru Kenyatta has vowed to wipe out graft completely, and deal with anyone standing in his way.

Barasa is now claiming that Raila and team are using Uhuru's determination to realise their goal of painting the DP corrupt with the intention to break them apart.
