Olwero on Sunday raised alarm over a plan, allegedly hatched by the Speaker to oust him, adding that the Speaker is planning to replace him with a relative of his (Okode).

He said that he found locks on his door changed upon returning from his leave which he started early February, terming it a possible plan by the Speaker to settle scores.

“I know we have been having issues in the assembly but locking up the office of a public officer is not one way of solving them,” he told the Nation.

He noted that their differences began in 2018 over the running of the Assembly and the board, and is now warning that the issue might result in unnecessary tension in the Assembly.

But on his side, the Speaker insisted that the Clerk has been suspended to give room for investigations over misappropriation of Shs 3 million of taxpayer's money.

Speaker Okode added that the latter is suspected to have withdrawn the funds from county accounts initially but has not been replaced as he is claiming.

“The clerk is on suspension; he has a letter to that effect. The sideshows he is engaging in will not help him, he will face disciplinary action just like any other staff,” he said.
