Security officers from Itumbe police station have since arrested the father of the girl, her uncle and Scania Academy Head Teacher.

Police say that the 14-year-old girl, who studies at Nyabonge Secondary, was nabbed following intelligence reports. Part of OB in the police said:

This comes amid tight security in the ongoing exams with a section of Kenyans accusing Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i of militarising exams.

Last month, while speaking in Nyamira, Matiang'i defended Gusii schools when education ministry revealed that a number of institutions from the region were being monitored over Irregularities.

County Commissioner Godfrey Kigochi confirmed the incident but said investigations were still ongoing to establish the motive behind the move.
