Political analyst Gerald Bitok has insisted that things are not in order in the ruling Jubilee Party.
The party is facing an uphill task in unifying its members as a result of infighting between forces allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and those loyal to his deputy William Ruto.
Bitok now says that the party has been falling apart for some time now, linking its woes to former Interim Vice-chairman David Murathe who resigned from his position earlier in the year.
He said that Murathe's exit was so disadvantageous to the party and has left it a casualty, likening it to a bus whose gearbox has been taken away and which can no longer move.
He added that similar harm has been done by party's Secretary-General Raphael Tuju, whom he observed has been playing a major role in ensuring that it remains in trouble.
"Jubilee is a bus, Murathe left with the gearbox and the vehicle has been placed on stones. Tuju is, on the other hand, having the keys in his pockets (Jubilee ni basi. Murathe alienda na gearbox na sasa imewekelewa juu ya mawe. Tuju naye ako na kifunguo kwa mfuko)," he said.
Despite his claims that he resigned, a section of Jubilee MPs has claimed that he was forced out after declaring war on Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential ambitions.
He insisted that the party is already dead, urging its leaders not to make attempts to salvage it and instead concentrate on realising president Uhuru Kenyatta's Big Four agenda.
"Jubilee is dead, the important thing now is the Big Four agenda," he added.
