Emerging details indicate that not all nomination tickets issued to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidates are preceded by a democratic process as required.
According to Makadara lawmaker and party Chair in Nairobi County, some are given on the orders of the party leader and opposition boss Raila Odinga.
Speaking on Radio Citizen Thursday morning, Aladwa said that Raila has the power to choose a candidate for the party basing on their loyalty to him and the bloc.
"Its not a must that we conduct primaries. At times Raila can personally come in or make a call and direct officials to issue the ticket to a specific person basing on their loyalty," he said.
The vocal parliamentarian said that the same is allowed in line with the party laws, noting that the direct nomination technique is another mode used by the party to pick its candidates.
This comes only days after the bloc issued direct tickets to Chris Karan and Irshad Sumra for the looming Ugenya and Embakasi South parliamentary races respectively.
The seats fell vacant after the Supreme Court in December anulled Karan's election and that of Musili Mawathe who defeated Sumra in the August 8 2017 elections.
The party had a history of shambolic and violent primaries as well.
