There has been controversy over recent pictures posted by female artist Akothee which have sparked a fierce online debate for the last few days.
Political analyst Dr Onyango Ochieng Jnr argues that the pictures posted by the singer show moral decay, cultural decadence in a Facebook conversation on Monday.
The analyst who appeared alongside blogger Albert Nyakundi Amenya popularly known as Banana Peddler challenged those supporting Akothee's 'spoiled' stunts.
He compared it to what happens in Western countries arguing that the difference in cultural standards between Kenya and western countries does not allow such behaviour to be allowed in Kenya.
In their opinion, The CEO of Kenya Classification Board Dr Ezekiel Mutua has also failed the country because he has just used words to condemn Akothee and not actions.
They also dismissed claims that they are jealous of the artist because she is making a lot of money, claiming even thieves, corrupt leaders, criminals among others make a lot of money but that doesn't legitimise their actions.
The duo also questioned Akothee's source of wealth dismissing the fact that music was enough to feed her lavish lifestyle which she flaunts on social media.
"Akothee should tell us what she is doing apart from music... Akothee should be investigated on what she does, maybe she is selling drugs, who knows? " said Nyakundi.
They compared Akothee to other artists like Bob Marley, Jose Chameleon, Sauti Sol who, in their opinion, their artistic work genuinely finance their lifestyle and the same does not apply to Akothee.
"I still insist that Akothee is involved in some other funny businesses, if not drug peddling because the way she flosses, I really doubt if her money comes from music," stated Nyakundi.
