Kamba gospel singer Justus Myello has declared his entry into the political world.
Myello on Tuesday told this writer that he will be vying for the Embakasi South parliamentary seat in the forthcoming by-election.
He exuded confidence that he will whitewash his opponents to clinch the seat.
"It's true I'm vying and I'm very confident that I will emerge the winner," Myello said.
Myello will be contesting against former Embakasi South legislator Irshad Sumra (ODM) and the immediate ex-area MP Julius Mawathe (Wiper).
The "Katiwa" hitmaker disclosed that he will get to the ballot on the Grand Dream Development party ticket chaired by Kangundo lawmaker Fabian Muli.
The Embakasi South parliamentary seat remained vacant on December 21, 2018, after the Supreme Court nullified Mawathe's August 8, 2017 election.
The court ruled that the incumbent was not duly elected in the last polls.
Mawathe had moved to the highest court of the land in July 2018 after an appellate court overturned the High Court's decision to uphold his win.
Justice Mohammed Warsame, who read the judgment on behalf of his colleagues Kathurima Minoti and Daniel Musinga, set aside the High Court's judgment.
The court ordered the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to conduct a by-election in the constituency.
