Nyali MP Mohammed Ali, has expressed disappointment following Thursday's move in Parliament that saw President Uhuru Kenyatta's 8 per cent fuel VAT passed in a controversial manner.
Ali, alias Moha Jicho Pevu had warned several MPs that "if you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality."
There was shouting in the House as several MPs from both sides opposed the Bill after Narok Woman Representative Soipan Tuya who was leading the session, declared that the proposals had been passed despite many MPs voting no.
Moha who was elected as an independent candidate opposed the VAT, saying it was forcefully passed by parliamentary leadership despite many MPs rejecting it.
He said Kenyans had already been overburdened by the high living standards, and accused the Jubilee government of imposing high taxes to the taxpayer with ill motives.
"My stand on the current VAT on fuel products debate is that we will continue standing and speaking for the common already oppressed mwananchi. Zero VAT is our stand," he said after the controversial vote.
Speaking during an interview on Radio Jambo on Thursday, Moha said Kenya should be a democratic country where both leaders and citizens abide by the rule of law.
Moha who declared support for Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid, said those in power are the ones oppressing the citizens currently, a situation that should stop.

"We want a Kenya where Mohamed Ali stands for any post, he is given without looking at his background. Right now, Kenyans should stand firm and say enough is enough. Kenyans should resist high taxes," he said.
Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr was also present during the interview.
He condemned parliament leadership over what transpired during the controversial vote.
