Nakuru politician George Kori is dead.
Kori died at a Nairobi hospital where he was undergoing treatment after a long illness.
The deceased is a prominent figure within Nakuru, especially in Molo and Elburgon towns, where he served as a popular councilor in the 1980s.
He was also a former chairman of the defunct Nakuru County Council.
Family sources said the ex-councilor died shortly after attending a dialysis session at Nairobi's Aga Khan Hospital.
"He died Saturday night at around 9pm" a family source said.
Molo MP Kuria Kimani eulogized Kori as a great man who at one time donated his land for public use.
“I have learnt with great sadness the passing on of Mr George Kori, a former councilor and investor in Elburgon, Molo. He donated land for the construction of a chief’s office and police camp at Mutamaiyo. May the Lord console his family during this painful moment! RIP great son of Molo,” the MP said.
