Hours after sources from county communication team intimated that deputy governor Amos Nyaribo was in critical condition over failed kidney transplant, it has now been established that the process was successful.
Since August, Mr. Nyaribo, who was incharge of the county from May to July in Governor John Nyagarama's absence, has been admitted in an Indian hospital over kidney problem.
"I had an operation not transplant as they claim. It was successful and am now under routine checkup before I get back home,", he said in a video call.
He added: "Doctors want me to fully recuperate before discharging me. I lost my brother and burial preparations are underway."
Also, the deputy county boss wished candidates in national exams all the best, adding that his wish is to see the county improving.
Before he left for treatment, Mr. Nyaribo had ignited debate over power sharing with Nyagarama, whom he accused of dishonouring an agreement they had signed towards 2017 elections.
And during Nyagarama's absence, Mr. Nyaribo initiated crackdown against corrupt and ghost workers, further creating animosity between him and some loyal lieutenants of the governor.
"I am sure those spreading gossip about my health are beneficiaries of fraud. They are scared of my return but I'll make it."
