Former State advisor Peter Kagwanja has said the 'Tanga Tanga' faction of the ruling Jubilee Party remains a Mt Kenya headache.
The group has been championing for Deputy President William Ruto's presidency in the 2022 polls, in defiance to President Uhuru Kenyatta's opposition.
Team 'Tanga Tanga' has managed to remain active despite warnings from Uhuru who is the region's defacto kingpin, with Kagwanja now arguing that the group is all about Mt Kenya.
Speaking on KTN's Point Blank show on Wednesday night, Kagwanja who doubles up as the African Policy Institute boss noted that the group is a Mt Kenya issue.
He noted that it is not in existence in other parts of the nation, adding that it needs to be dealt with as a regional problem that has engulfed Uhuru's bedrock.
"TangaTanga is peculiarly a Mt Kenya problem .We don't have 'TangaTanga' in Nyanza, Ukambani or in Luyha Land," he said.
However, 'Tanga Tanga' also includes other leaders within the Jubilee formation who are drawn from Ruto's Rift Valley bedrock.
He added that the region is becoming engulfed in a feeling of being neglected by the government of the day.
"There is a feeling of total neglect in the Mt Kenya region," he added.
