Homa Bay Township lawmaker Peter Kaluma has claimed that Homa Bay residents have themselves to blame for the current problems being experienced in the county.
Speaking on Thursday, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) member said that the residents have only themselves to blame for blindly electing and reelecting Governor Cyprian Awiti.
In an interview on Milele FM's Kivumbi Show, the youthful parliamentarian noted that the residents are now ripping the painful benefits of voting the ODM six piece in 2017.
"They voted for six piece and blindly elected leaders based on their parties of allegiance. They are now ripping the benefits of not analyzing the candidates before election them," he said.
He urged the Governor to do the people a favour and use the next three years in office to serve the people and slightly better the situation.
According to Kaluma, Awiti must begin by identifying and sacking corrupt and lazy county officials for better results.
"Let him identify lazy and corrupt fellows in his administration and isolate them. He must start from there," he added.
Awiti is on his last term as the two-term limit is constitutional regulation, therefore, he cannot vie anymore for the seat.
Residents confirmed their dislike for him when they came out in large numbers to protest the validation of his reelection by the Supreme Court last week.
