A man is nursing injuries inflicted to him by a commercial sex worker after he failed to pay Sh300 he promised the sex worker on Tuesday night.
It is alleged that the victim identified as Nicodemus Areri was at a drinking spree at Damside bar in Nyamira County when he hired a sex worker for sex.
"I was with Areri in the bar drinking when he spotted the sex worker who was half naked. He approached her and requested her to engage in sex with him. They negotiated in my presence and Areri agreed to pay her Sh300 after service," said Areri's friend Victor Mochache.
Mr Mochache further said Areri upon reaching in the lodging, he realized he had no money to pay the sex worker.
"Areri abandoned the woman in the lodging and came to ask me to give him some money. The sex worker 20 minutes later came where we were and demanded for money which the victim didn't raise," said Mochache.
He said Areri who was drunk started insulting the sex worker something that prompted to the fight.
Area administrator Douglas Magero said Areri was rescued by the bar's security personnel.
"The victim could be a past tense were it not for the club bouncers who intervened. He was rushed to a local clinic for the wounds on his head to be dressed up," he said.
He warned men against hiring sex workers when they are broke.
