Two brothers were arrested on Monday for allegedly killing their elder brother over a land dispute.
The incident happened at Nyachogochogo village in Kisii County.
Confirming the incident area assistant chief Edward Nyabuto said the suspect identified as Ken Mogaka and Samuel Mosoti stormed the deceased house on the wee hours of Monday morning where they killed him.
“Mogaka and Mosoti stormed their elder brother’s house and used a robe to strangle him to death as his wife watched,” said the chief.
The chief added that the deceased wife raised alarm after the suspects escaped from the house.
“Neighbours responded quickly to alarm and chased after the suspects before they apprehended them 200 meters away and surrendered them to my office,” he noted.
He said the suspects were later taken to Kisii police station from where they will be taken to court to be charged over the murder.
“The suspects will face the law to serve as an example to those fond of killing others. The body of the deceased was moved to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital morgue,” he added.
