Led by University of Nairobi's Brian Orina, the learners vowed to pile pressure on Ms Mohammed until she quits office, arguing that they will not sit down watching Vice Chancellors increase tuition fee.

"We shall put pressure on her until she resigns. She is doing very little in the ministry and these are some of the people who should be kicked out of government.

"We are going to hold countrywide demonstrations from Monday if the proposal to increase tuition fee is not handled. This impunity must stop," he said on behalf of a large team that had turned for demonstrations on Monday.

The students blocked University Way for the better part of Monday as they matched to Anniversary Towers where they also issued HELB a warning over delayed funding.

University Chancellors have proposed to the ministry to allow them to increase tuition fee from Sh16,000 to Sh48,000, a move that has not gone well with the learners.

Ambassador Amina Mohammed has been under scrutiny in recent weeks with former students warning her against working with DCI to arrest HELB loan defaulters.
