What Duale plans to do before 2022 polls
Garissa Township Aden Duale has vowed to spearhead unity among the pastoralist communities ahead of the 2022 General Election.
Duale says he is going to do everything to make sure the community speaks in one voice.
Speaking to journalists in Garissa Town on Sunday, the Leader of Majority in the National Assembly stated that the community will have bargain power in 2022.
He noted that the pastoralist community has numbers that will determine the direction the country’s top leadership will take in 2022.
“Our key focus is to remain united as we champion development and equality,” Duale said.
The Garissa legislator claimed that pastoralist communities have been neglected and abandoned, adding that time has come for them to demand a share of the national leadership.
The Garissa MP asked leaders from pastoralist communities to stand firm and advocate for unity, peace, and development.
On Friday during the Pastoralists 2019 Summit in Garissa, Deputy President William Ruto said the national government will work closely with counties to foster unity and development.
The DP urged leaders in pastoralist communities to take advantage of devolution and champion service delivery to the people.
