Deputy President William Ruto and his tangatanga brigade continued their attack on former Prime Minister Raila Odinga of linking him with the fake Gold scam when he toured Maiella are in Nakuru County.
DP Ruto said in the spirit of the Handshake, which was made to unite Kenyans, they made efforts to make opposition leader Raila Odinga African Union High Representative on Infrastructure.
However, Ruto made clear that the job description for the AU job the former Premiere was given did not entail anything related to prospecting mineral in the continent.
"The job description did not contain mineral aspects or whistle-blower. We don't know where he got these jobs because the job we had given him was about infrastructure in Africa. There was no negotiation that you were going to involve yourself in prospecting minerals or engaging in the merchandise of fake gold in the international market," DP Ruto said.
DP added that those who were involved in the fake Gold scandal will not go for free because that may put Kenyans doing business in Dubai at great risk.
"We do not want to put at risk our international image, opportunities for many Kenyans in foreign countries and diplomatic relations with other nations," the DP added.
The leaked audio conversation had mentioned the names of President Uhuru Kenyatta, Opposition leader Raila Odinga and Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi. However, on Friday, Raila broke his silence over the scandal and said he was the whistle-blower.
