A security guard who was reportedly abducted by suspected thieves on Thursday night was found on Friday.
The guard had been deployed to man the Chepkurbet Africa Gospel Church in Kapsoit Ward, Ainamoi Sub-County, Kericho County before the unknown assailants launched the attack.
The suspects reportedly broke into the religious institution and stole kitchenware, before reportedly abducting the guard.
The incident was on Friday confirmed by Chepkurbet Sub-Location Assistant Chief Thomas Korir.
According to the administrator, the guard narrated how the suspects forced him into a waiting Toyota Probox car which was their getaway vehicle before driving off.
He claimed that he found his way back after freeing himself from a thicket in Kapsorot area where they tied him before fleeing, reports Citizen Digital.
The guard whose name is being withheld is currently being held at the nearby Nyagacho Police Post as the police investigate the matter.
The administrator urged area residents to report any suspected persons or activities in the area to the relevant authorities to avoid such incidents.
A meeting was held between the guard and the church with regards to the issue before he was taken to the police station.
