Nairobians found it as a source of jokes, memes and 'Kirimino' challenge when Nairobi nominated MCA Mary Njambi left Speaker Beatrice Elachi's office with watery eyes.
The MCA claimed that she had been sprayed with chili pepper in her eyes by the impeached speaker.
MCA Njambi was among other Nairobi MCAs who had gone to evict the speaker from her office before she claimed to have been sprayed with an unusual spray.
"How can you be a speaker, na unawaekea ma-MCA wako mapiripiri kwa macho? Si hiyo ni kirimino, (How can you be a speaker and spray pepper into your MCAs's eyes? Is that not criminal?) she wondered.
When you are in Nairobi, especially if you like reveling and partying in nightclubs, someone might target you for various reasons and spray chili-pepper into your eyes.
It is good to stay alert considering your security always start with you. The following are the dos and don's that should come in your mind if you become a victim, as discussed by Len V. Hua, OD, PhD, and Jonathan Hughes, BSc
Dos
1. Immediately wash your eyes with clean water
2. Seek medical attention thereafter so that the damage can be determined.
Don'ts
1. Do not rub your eyes
This will only make the pepper to spread all over your eye thus causing more harm. It can even lead to total blindness when you end up hurting your cornea.
2. Washing your eyes with other fluids other than water, this will have the same effect as rubbing the eyes.
