Kirinyaga Governor Anne Mumbi Waiguru has finally met her look-alike, newly elected first female University of Nairobi (UoN) student leader Anne Mwangi Mvurya.
On Thursday, Waiguru took to her official Twitter handle to announce her meeting with the young Mvurya.
“It is said that everybody has at least one person whom they strongly resemble: Had an intriguing meeting newly elected UNSA chair, @MwangiMvurya,” she tweeted.
Waiguru in her tweet added, “We share quite a bit in common including a shared passion for more women in political leadership.”
Mvurya was elected last month as the University of Nairobi Student Association chairperson.
She made history as a first female student to win the chairperson for the Association after getting votes from UoN campuses across the country.
Mvurya, however, made news after a section of Kenyans on social media likened her looks to those of Governor Waiguru.
In a series of media interviews, Mvurya stated that she is not related to Waiguru but promised to dig out and even meet the governor to talk about their alleged resemblance.
The young student leader further shocked Kenyans when she revealed that her campaigns cost her Sh2 Million.
Majority Kenyans started questioning her source of campaign money owing to her young age. She, however, set the record straight, noting that her campaign money was contributed by her friends and well-wishers.
