Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama has defended his track record since he took office in 2013 amid growing public rebellion.
The county boss while addressing residents at Ekerenyo market on Friday, said his rivals should appreciate his work.
"My rivals should not dwell so much on criticism. Let them appreciate me for the good work I am doing. After the Supreme court upheld my 2017 polls, I will serve Nyamira people irrespective of how they voted," he said.
He appealed to his rival Walter Nyambati to join his camp to develop Nyamira.
"Nyamira people should be united. Nyambati and his supporters should join my team for accelerated development to be realized in the county," added the ODM party elected Governor.
Nyagarama dismissed claims that he has been diverting public funds for unintended purposes.
"Money being sent from the national government doesn't belong to me but, to Nyamira people. I have not pocketed any money meant for development. I am satisfied with my monthly salary," he added.
He vowed to continue empowering traders across the county arguing that traders have been major contributors to the county's revenue collection.
Mr Nyagarama assured residents that he will traverse the county to launch development projects.
