This came after members of EACC raised eyebrows over the appointment of Kwaga.

Mr Kwaga is a key suspect in the alleged looting of Sh2 billion from Migori county and was a close associate of Governor Okoth Obado.

He was among the individuals who were shortlisted to the board on February 8 through a gazette notice issued by the CS and was to start a three-year term that would run until 2022.

His appointment was revoked on Monday in a gazette notice dated February 11, 2019.

"...the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and Technology revoke the appointment of Jared Peter Odoyo Kwaga as a member of the Council of the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication," reads the notice.

According to EACC, Kwaga owns several companies that are alleged to have received million's of shillings through fraud tender payments.

This move shows how the government is pushing to have all graft cases taken seriously.
