Nakuru County government has closed down Gilani's Supermarket over reports that the building housing it is at risk of collapsing.
The closure order has been given by the Lands, Physical Planning and Housing County Executive Committee Member (CECM).
Sources at the Supermarket said the orders are to 'allow inspection of the building'.
The county's Physical Planning CECM Frank Mwangi said the order takes effect immediately.
"Mwangi has issued closure notice to Gilani's Supermarket following concerns over the safety of the building. The building has structural issues that need to be addressed before it can be given a clean bill of health," a statement from the CECM said.

We reported the risk posed by the building after popular blogger Elijah Kinyanjui was tipped of cracks inside the building as well as overloading that is reportedly done in certain floors.
“This is a plea I'm making before its too late. My daughter works at [name withheld] Supermarket and she has just come in and told me that the floor to the basement is caving in but the management quickly sent back up in the form of pillars to hold the floor up,” the message read in part.
The source added: “This is very risky because it looks like the upper floor is overloaded with heavy goods like rice. She tells me that even some parts of the supermarket have cracks in the walls n they have been giving their concerns but wanaambiwa ati wasikuwe na wasiwasi (they are told to relax)."
