Raila Odinga has been out of the country for a couple of days before jetting back on Tuesday, after he reportedly accompanied President Uhuru Kenyatta to China to negotiate for another SGR loan.
It has now emerged that immediately he landed at the Jommo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Raila went right ahead to meet a section of members of parliament who briefed him on what transpired while he was away.
Announcing the development via his official social media page, Raila posted a picture og him with the national assembly minority leader Junet Mohammed which he captioned that he was being briefed.
"Arrived back home from China and received a brief from MPs who included the parliamentary leadership," Raila wrote on a twitter
Even as he jets back home, it has emerged that duo was unable to successfully negotiate the much talked-of loan.
Tentatively, the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) extension from Naivasha town was envisaged to reach Kisumu by August 2019.
As it is at the moment, scanty details of the SGR loan are in the public domain even as State House Chief of Staff Mr Nzioka Waita on Monday trashed reports that the two national leaders had gone to append their signature on various deals including the loan security details.
