Repentance and Holiness Ministries owner David Owuor has demanded for an apology from a local media house over a publication circulated on Thursday failure to which, he threatens to move to court.

In the publication, it was claimed that Dr Owuor, who commands a huge following, conned properties belonging to Jayne Muthoni, a 62-year-old lawyer who is said to have now gone mad.

The paper also claimed that Prophet Owuor lives extravagant life using proceeds obtained from the lawyer's properties, adding that all workers in his Runda home earn between Sh50,000 to Sh100,000.Through advocate Okong'o Mogeni, Owuor has issued a notice to the media house to issue a comprehensive apology before he seeks legal redress on the matter at hand.

"I have today demanded an apology from Star Newspaper on the false and fake claims made on their editions of Tuesday and Thursday this week against PROPHET Dr OWUOR failure to which I will move to court to tame the fake media that has gone out of control in this land."

He added: "Freedom of media should never be used to damage the reputation of law abiding citizens. A red line must be drawn againt reckless journalism and character assassination."

Lately, Owuor has been subjected to to social media onslaught with blogger Abraham Mutai pushing for his prosecution for allegedly conning his followers by performing fake miracles.

But a statement by DCI denied claims that it had summoned Owuor over the matter, adding that the man of God would not be subjected to interrogation any time soon.

So powerful is Owuor that he manages to attract huge crowds in his rallies across the country. He is in record for baptising former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
