Cooperation between India and Kenya in space technology and agriculture along with maritime transport in Lake Victoria and India Ocean featured in Raila Odinga's meeting with Indian PM Narendra Modi.

Raila, who was accorded state reception, a privilege preserved VIPs, also passed a message of goodwill to Mr. Modi from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"The two leaders agreed on the need for Kenya and India to explore joint initiatives in maritime transport on Indian Ocean and Lake Victoria.

"On Agriculture in particular, Odinga appealed to Modi to have India import at least 100,000 metric tonnes of green grams from Kenya to save farmers who have invested in the crop," read a statement by Odinga's spokesman Dennis Onyango.

Also, the two leaders agreed that India will support Kenya to host the Blue Energy Conference in Nairobi in September 2018.

Lately, Raila has been representing Kenya in high powered summits including mediating in South Sudanese crisis on behalf of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
