Speaking on Saturday, Ruto claimed that his relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta remains healthy and intact.

Speaking at Kaheti Boys High School in Mukurweini, he disclosed that they have been friends long before Uhuru's presidency, and should not be though to be parting ways

He further lashed out at people who have been questioning hisbsupoort for Uhuru, at a time when he has been seen more interested about his 2022 presidential bid than helping Uhuru realize his development manifesto.

"My friendship with president Kenyatta started long ago before he became President. I supported his ambition since 2002. Nobody should lecture me on how to support the President,” he was quoted by the Nation.

The DP further rubbished claims that he has been using his uncountable cross county tours to engage in early campaigns, arguing that he has been engaging in constructive exercise.

Ruto told those opposed to his tours to bear with him, claiming that his trips enjoy the blessings of Uhuru, whom he said is the one who has been assigning him the jobs.

He added that his aim is to deliver inline with the Jubilee manifesto, stressing that no amount of criticism will stop him from doing the job he was rightfully elected to do.

"Those raising questions should forgive me because I am doing my job which I was elected to do. I will be faithful to the responsibility given to me as Deputy President to support [President] Uhuru Kenyatta to deliver on Jubilee Party’s manifesto," he added.

Ruto's tours have been questioned by members of the opposition, alongside a group of the ruling Jubilee Party members under the Kieleweke tag, which is opposed to his presidential ambitions.
