Police officers in Nyamira County have been urged to arrest men who solicit sex from young students.
According to Nyamira County MP Jerusha Momanyi, the trend should be taken as a criminal offense.
"I am pleading with Nyamira County police officers led by county commissioner Isaiah Nakoru to arrest sponsors and they be charged over rape in a court of law," she noted.
The Jubilee MP said if 'sponsors' can't be arrested, most young ladies are likely to be killed the same way Migori Governor Okoth Obado aided the killing of Sharon Otieno.
"Sharon fell in love with Obado because of money. To curb such deaths in future, police must ensure old rich men in Nyamira luring our girls into love and sex are nabbed," she noted.
Jerusha urged parents to monitor their daughters' movements to ensure they don't fall on the traps of sponsors.
"Parents should encourage their daughters to live as by their family background and stop rushing to old men for sex to get money," she added.
