Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday stormed Kisii County again, a region perceived to be the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's political stronghold and received a warm reception from the locals.
Mr. Ruto who is focused to succeed his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta attended a fund drive at Nyabururu Catholic church in Kitutu Chache South where he dished out money towards the construction of the church.
During the fund drive, DP Ruto asked members of the public to join his 'winning' team ahead of the 2022 general elections.
"We are not going to lose in 2022. I am, therefore, requesting you to join me move together and ensure the leadership of this country is better after 2022 elections," he noted.
He assured that he doesn't hate any leader from Kisii County region saying he is ready to work with all leaders irrespective of their political affiliations.
"I have no grudge with anyone. I am a national leader mandated to unite the people of this country," said Ruto.
According to DP Ruto, politicians should bury the hatchet and work together for the betterment of this nation.
"Raila and my boss Mr. Kenyatta buried their political differences and now they are on track. Politicians should borrow a leaf from the two leaders and accept to move on," he added.
