The student had apparently lied to his parents that he was reporting back to school for tuition only to head to her university girlfriends' place.

It took the high school students' mother one week to realize that her son had lied to her. All this time, the boy was at her girlfriends' place.

This is after the boys' classmates came looking for him at home.

"After closing for the August holiday, he told me that they were supposed to go back for tuition because of the KCSE examinations. At first, I didn't believe him because the government had banned tuition in schools but he, later on, convinced me and so I gave him Sh3,000 for tuition payment," narrated the mother.

"His close friends told us that he had told them about a certain lady at the university. After a lot of inquiring from his friends, we finally knew where he was," he added.

The mother together with the uncles raided the room in Mabatini where they found the two having a good time.

In her defence, the university student said she did not know that the boy was a high school student.

"I never knew that he was in high school. He told me that he had finished his secondary education last year," she said.

The uncles gave the boy, who admitted having lied to the university student, a thorough beating before boarding a motorcycle back home.
